Apply for residency during the last year of pharmacy school
How does residency compare and contrast to your expectations of it beforehand: Lived up to expectations in terms of developing skills, Some things don’t go as planned ex: COVID,
How has COVID impacted your residency?: Lots of virtual, Masks, limited number of residents in room, Less social interaction outside of work, 72/500 hospital bed filled with COVID patients, much busier for pharmacy
2yr vs 3yrs program?: 2 year programs are rare, usually specific to just administration, Uusually 1 year general, next year specialized, Takes time to know your exact route
You can do rotations abroad in 4th year pharmacy school
Limited residencies abroad because pharmacy practices vary worldwide
