• Antimicrobial Stewardship- intervention designed to improve and measure the appropriate use of antibiotics

• Infections require antibiotics to improve

• Individual use influences efficacy in others

• When a patient takes antibiotics- antibiotic kills all bacteria susceptible leaves bacteria that are resistant

• Important to only use antibiotics when we need them

• Giving the patient the right antibiotic in a timely matter

• Decreasing inappropriate use of antibiotics saves institutions money
